Night has its own language. The day is released in two oils, then the skin is left alone with gold.
At Maison AQAY Paris, the evening holds three gestures, always in the same order. They bear a name, L’Éveil de la Lune, and begin when the day ends.
The order of the night
First, on a dry face, the Elixir Makeup Remover Oil, massaged in small circles; the makeup fades into the oil and is rinsed away. Then the Elixir Nourishing Oil Cleanser, which turns to milk with a little water and leaves behind the silkiness of the oils. Last, the Rich Elixir Serum, the only gesture that stays until morning.
Why does the evening begin with oil?
Oil dissolves oil. Makeup and the traces of the day are made of fats and pigments that an oil lifts without force, gently. The Maison calls this pairing of two oils double cleansing; Le Rituel tells it in full.
When should the evening gestures begin?
When the day is truly over: after the last appointment, before the book or the silence. Done without haste, the three gestures take the time they need; the skin then rests all night beneath the Serum, and wakes supple and nourished.
The moon rises, the gestures are done. Night can begin.
